Around the globe, millions still depend on costly, polluting diesel generators. In remote locations, traditional renewables face space limitations, complex logistics, and harsh weather conditions. But with SkySails, clean energy takes flight – literally.
Our systems are mobile, modular, and made for tough environments – delivering sustainable power where others can’t – Efficient. Scalable. Ready when you are.
The kites of SkySails Power systems soar high above, capturing the strong and steady high-altitude winds. This means reliable, cost-effective electricity – without the need for heavy infrastructure or deep foundations. Learn how our systems can solve your energy problem and reserve your access to airborne wind.
Our systems use up to 90% fewer materials than other technologies for renewable energy generation and do not use rare earth elements. They fit into standard containers, simplifying transport and installation while significantly cutting costs and carbon footprint.
From remote villages and agricultural sites to industrial operations—wherever power is needed, SkySails delivers. Our system also seamlessly integrates with other energy sources, enhancing energy resilience day and night.
Harsh weather? No problem. Compact, lightweight, and durable, our airborne wind energy systems even withstand hurricanes and typhoons.
As our kite soars into the sky, it pulls a tether from a winch inside the ground station. The rotation drives a generator to produce clean electricity. The kite flies autonomously in figures of eight, which is the optimal pattern for maximizing the force on the tether.
When the 800-meter long tether is fully extended, the kite’s autopilot gently guides it back. Only a minimal amount of energy is used to return to its starting position. Then, the cycle begins again— just like a yo-yo in constant motion.
With every loop, our innovative technology generates renewable energy.
Kyo is easily shipped in two standard containers to your site. It is quickly deployed and integrates seamlessly into the landscape while requiring little space and no deep foundation.
With unmatched economic performance, seamless integration, and a commitment to sustainable innovation, Kyo is the next step toward a resilient, renewable energy future.

Designed for the further evolving energy landscape, Kyo builds on our proven technology while optimizing for the challenges of high-energy-demand environments. With a reduced Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) below 10 cents per kWh, Kyo makes airborne wind energy more competitive than ever—especially for remote regions and industrial sites that depend on reliable and affordable power.
Kyo is not just an upgrade—it is a new category of airborne wind energy that enables energy independence for small island developing states (SIDS), remote operations, and hybrid energy systems. By complementing existing renewable and fossil-based generation, Kyo ensures maximum flexibility and economic viability, making it the ideal choice for busines-
ses and governments seeking a scalable, cost-effective energy solution.
Airon fits into a standard 30-ft-container. With its compact design, Airon ensures rapid deployment and seamless integration into diverse environments.
Built upon years of expertise and rigorous testing, Airon represents the forefront of airborne wind energy, guaranteeing reliability and performance up to 200 kW – already available today.
Whether for small-scale applications or larger energy networks, Airon is designed to grow with demand, making it a future-proof investment in sustainable energy.

SkySails makes renewable energy simple and efficient, with less material, easy transport, and quick setup. Perfect for remote locations, off-grid living, and even areas prone to typhoons. The Airon is as small as a shipping container and can still harvest the wind potential at +200m resulting in LCOE <25 cent/kWh. This makes it a viable solution where MW wind energy converters (WEC) or small ~200kW WEC are not feasibl.

SkySails Power systems have already proven their potential for areas like this in Mauritius, where a 120 m² kite harnesses strong high-altitude winds to supply clean electricity to the island grid. The SkySails Power Airon harnesses powerful high-altitude wind, delivering cost-effective and eco-friendly electricity. Airon is a game-changing solution that drastically reduces reliance on fossil fuels and mitigates operational costs. By reducing dependence on diesel, it provides a more sustainable and cost-effective energy alternative.
